At Skibo we firmly believe that happy staff equal happy members, and we like to reward our staff for their service. Each year you will be invited to a Birthday Lunch in Mr Carnegie’s Dining Room where you will enjoy a delicious two-course meal prepared by the Skibo chefs
Rewarding Loyalty
Many our staff members have been at Skibo for years, developing their skills and becoming part of the fabric of the club – some have even been with us for two decades! To reward long service, all staff members who have been with us for 5 years or more are invited to an annual celebratory dinner, and you will be rewarded at key milestones through your career at Skibo in recognition of your continued service.
Employee Benefits
In addition to your salary, you will receive a share of the Service Charge, which is an additional charge added to guest room rates and other services at the Club that is paid to all employees on a pro-rata basis regardless of their role. You will also receive quarterly gratuities and, if you work over Christmas and New Year, you will receive a festive bonus. You can also take advantage of the Skibo Staff Benefits Scheme, which offers discounts at a range of local businesses. All staff are offered a complimentary meal whilst on duty (lunch and dinner).
Use of Facilities
There is a staff gym available for your use, and you can also take advantage of discounted staff rates at the Skibo Spa and the Stables, as well as quad bike and fly-fishing sessions. You are also able to explore the 8,000 acre Skibo estate by foot or by bicycle – a number of bikes are reserved exclusively for staff use.
Staff Accommodation
Depending on your circumstances we may be able to offer you accommodation, either in the castle or in a lodge on the estate, for a nominal charge. All rooms are fully furnished and have central heating. Live-in staff are also able to enjoy off-duty meals for a nominal extra charge.
