Situated an hour north of Inverness on the picturesque Dornoch Firth, Skibo Castle sits amidst 8,000 acres of gardens, woodland and moor and offers members and guests a home-from-home in the Highlands.
The Carnegie Club employs some 200 staff across a wide range of skills. If you feel that you would make an excellent addition to the Skibo family then we warmly encourage you to get in touch. Accounts
Our team of accountants take care of everything finance-related at Skibo, from payroll to processing annual membership dues.
Activities
From quad biking and fishing to clays and archery, our Activities Instructors introduce guests of all ages to a wide range of outdoor pursuits.
Administration
Behind the scenes at Skibo are the people who - with an exceptional attention to detail - ensure the smooth running of the Club.
Archive
Caring for the castle archive, conducting castle tours for members and guests, and sharing Skibo's rich history with a wider audience through the Club Blog.
Children's Barn
Keeping our youngest members amused with fun-filled days at the Barn and a programme of supervised activities, and also providing babysitting in the evenings.
Club Shop
The team at the Skibo Shop create a unique shopping experience for guests, while the golf team make a round on the Carnegie Links an unforgettable experience.
Creative
Keeping our members informed about what's happening at the Club, building relationships with select brand partners, and introducing Skibo to potential members.
Food & Beverage
Whether setting tables, receiving deliveries, crafting cocktails or serving dinner in the Club's signature tartan, our F&B team make sure service at Skibo is seamless.
Forestry
Care and maintenance of the woodland on the 8,000-acre estate, from commercial forestry areas to historic tree conservation.
Front of House
Making reservations and booking activities, organising events, meeting and greeting our guests and assisting them with whatever they might need throughout their stay with a touch of true Highland hospitality.
Gardens
Tending to the castle's historic gardens as well as the wider estate, and working closely with the Kitchen team to grow much of the produce used in the Club's kitchens.
Gamekeeping
Responsible for the established pheasant, partridge and duck shoots available in season to guests at Skibo.
Greenkeeping
Keeping the championship Carnegie Links in immaculate order, and responsible for preparing the course for play.
Housekeeping
Our housekeepers, room and laundry attendants, porters and in-house florist provide members with the ultimate home-from-home experience.
Kitchen
Creating the delicious dishes enjoyed daily by guests at Skibo, from breakfast to afternoon tea to dinner with seasonal menus and a field-to-fork ethos.
Maintenance
Keeping Skibo Castle and the other buildings and facilities on the estate in excellent order, undertaking everything from painting to plasterwork to drystone dyking.
Membership
Looking after our 400 members as well as any potential members, from responding to membership enquiries to ensuring that guests celebrating a birthday at Skibo receive a special gift from the Club.
Music
Providing the soundtrack to a stay at Skibo, from the pipe organ at breakfast to tinkling of the ivories of the 1893 Bechstein piano after dinner.
People and Culture
With around 200 staff working at Skibo, the department oversees the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to retirement and all HR activities in between, ensuring that the culture of the Club shines throughout.
Spa
Offering guests at the Club a carefully curated range of luxurious spa therapies in the stunning Skibo Spa, situated on the banks of Loch Ospisdale, as well as overseeing the use of the historic swimming pool.
Stables
The team at the Equestrian Centre care for the Club's ponies and horses, and form an integral part of the guest experience by leading estate treks and lessons.
Transport
Often the first and last members of the Skibo team that guests meet during their stay, our convivial and professional drivers take our guests wherever they may wish to travel - both on and off the estate.
Gratuities and the Service Charge
Gratuities (tips) and service charge (an additional charge added to room rates and other services at the Club that is passed directly to staff) are paid to all employees on a pro-rata basis regardless of their role.
It is estimated that in 2024, full-time staff can expect to receive around £4,000 in addition to their annual salary.
