At Skibo Castle, our Property Maintenance team plays a crucial role in creating an exceptional experience for our members and guests. Their work ensures the smooth running of the Club through maintenance of the buildings and amenities across our stunning 8,000-acre estate.
The team is responsible for the care of:
- Skibo Castle, with foundations dating back to the 1200s.
- Historic structures such as the swimming pool and Equestrian Centre, both sensitively restored and upgraded.
- Contemporary additions, including the Clubhouse, built to meet modern needs.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Perform Maintenance Tasks: Handle a variety of maintenance work, including plumbing, joinery, painting and decorating, general repairs, and compliance checks across the Club's property portfolio.
- Coordinate Work Schedules: Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and guest service departments to schedule tasks at times that minimise disruption for members and guests.
- Work to a Shift Pattern: Maintenance Technicians work on a shift pattern that will cover late shifts and 1 in 4 weekend cover, when on the back shift you will also be on call for any business-critical emergencies.
- Respond to Emergencies: Address urgent maintenance issues such as emergency repairs, fault finding, heating controls, and damage fixes.
- Ensure Cost-Effective Solutions: Approach each job with efficiency, balancing cost-effectiveness with the high-quality standards expected at the Club.
- Collaborate and Guide: Work closely with colleagues and external tradespeople and provide supervision and guidance to trade apprentices when needed.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will:
- Have proven experience in maintenance as a technician, or in a similar role (preferably in a hospitality or estate environment).
- Possess multi-trade skills in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Be dependable, organised, and conscientious, with a strong sense of pride in your work.
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Be skilled at prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Have experience with off-loading equipment and be comfortable lifting, working from heights, and adapting to various working conditions.
- Have a good understanding of health and safety regulations and ideally hold a current first aid certificate.
- Be IT literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office software for record-keeping and reporting.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence.
