About the Role

At the Carnegie Club, we offer an exceptional shopping experience to our members and guests, featuring a curated selection of premium goods, including cashmere, cuddly toys, and the Club's own whisky. Our exclusive sportswear collection and bespoke Skibo items make perfect gifts, while our clothing section features renowned brands.

We are seeking a dynamic Luxury Retail Manager to oversee our sophisticated retail operations. The ideal candidate will have retail experience, a passion for fine goods, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Golf, lead the retail team, and build industry relationships within the high-end sector. Additionally, you will manage key administrative tasks, including stock control, financial reporting, and business planning.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a warm and professional welcome for members and guests.
  • Create a luxurious and inviting shopping atmosphere that reflects the essence of The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle.
  • Analyse retail performance with a strategic approach, providing regular reports to your line manager and the Managing Director.
  • Oversee visual merchandising, designing immaculate displays that enhance the in-store experience.
  • Manage inventory efficiently, prioritising stock according to demand.
  • Drive sales growth, exceeding targets while expanding and enhancing the retail offering.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate a high-performing retail team.
  • Handle customer and staff concerns with professionalism and discretion.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of luxury boutique products, including jewellery, antiques, cashmere, and lifestyle brands.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brands and suppliers, staying informed on market trends and emerging luxury brands.

Who We Are Looking for

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about delivering an exceptional shopping experience, who will:

  • Take pride in providing impeccable customer service.
  • Approach every interaction with warmth, adaptability, and professionalism.
  • Ensure the seamless operation of the store while maintaining a visually stunning environment.
  • Have proven experience as a Retail Manager, preferably in a premium retail setting.
  • Have a deep passion for and knowledge of high-end retail.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Display a strong sales acumen and a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Be flexible with working hours to meet business needs.
  • Bring their experience in team leadership and staff development to maintain the highest retail standards.

Gratuities

Gratuities (tips) that are passed directly to staff are paid to all employees on a pro-rata basis regardless of their role.
