Activities at The Carnegie Club
- The Skibo estate covers 8,000 acres, stretching from the shore of the Dornoch Firth through links land, parkland, lochs and forest, to the heights of our expansive moor to the north.
- This diverse environment provides the backdrop for our Activities team to lead members and guests of all ages in a variety of outdoor pursuits, from clay pigeon shooting and archery to ATV driving and axe throwing.
- This spring, our new activities hub - the Treehouse at Overskibo - launched and we introduced a range of new exciting experiences, including paddleboarding, Mountain biking and more.
About the role
- As an Activities Instructor, you'll bring your passion for the outdoors to create fun and memorable personalised magical moments for our members.
- At Skibo, we pride ourselves on being seamlessly connected so you'll collaborate with other departments at the Club to ensure our members have the best tailored experience.
- You'll be responsible for leading members, guests and colleagues through ATV driving, clay pigeon shooting, axe throwing and more, ensuring that our visitors have the best possible experience whilst exploring our estate.
- At The Carnegie Club, we understand that not everyone has the same interests and capabilities, so flexibility is key! It will be your job to ensure that activities are tailored to each individual, catering to different age groups and personalities.
- You'll create positive and educational experiences, building trust and relationships in line with the Club ethos.
- You'll assess risks and create risk assessments accordingly.
- You'll also maintain all equipment and ensure all areas are kept to an excellent standard.
Who we are looking for
- You have a genuine interest in creating the best environment for our members whilst promoting the outdoors.
- You have your Shotgun License (essential), Archery GB Instructor certificate (preferable), First Aid certificate (preferable), ATV experience and fly-fishing experience (preferable).
- You're confident and enthusiastic in communication with colleagues, guests, and members at the club, and can blend exhilarating outdoor experiences with excellent hospitality.
- You have strong leadership skills and are a self-starter who thrives in an organisation that trusts you to do a great job in a supportive environment.
- Your happy place is learning new techniques and skills.
- You understand that not every member has the same interests, and you can modify how you interact with them whilst ensuring they enjoy the very best experience.
- You have a keen awareness of current Health and Safety regulations and ideally are first-aid trained.
- You hold a full, clean UK driving license.
